Heritage Sketch

I have to admit I'm really no good at this heritage scrapping. I LOVE colour and the quiet subdued hues that are used for traditional heritage scrap book pages really don't inspire me much.
Don't get me wrong, I love the way these LO's look when they are done, I just cannot do them!...

I tried hard to stick to the rules, I tried for several hours in fact...but then...orange kind of jumped out at me and I was forced to grab hold and run with it!! .....
So yes, I have orange on my heritage LO !

I have used this Cameo broach, given to me by my beautiful mum in law, as memorabilia on my LO. Its very precious but has been sitting tucked away in my draw for several years now. I thought it would be perfect on this page as its such a special reminder of Muriel.

I often hear people complain about their mother in laws, but I was truly lucky to have had Muriel in my life, she was, and always will be a truly beautiful lady and I miss her dearly.
We sadly lost Murial to a brain tumour on the 8th of August 2000

Thank you Dianne for providing the inspiration to create this page, I know it does not quite fit into the 'Heritage Scrapbook Box', but who wants to be in a box anyway :-)

Wow go the orange...that just makes it pop. I love it and the fact that you used such a special piece of jewelery in your LO too. Gorgeous Sonya.

I love the orange and who said orange can not be heritage lol.
I think you are being a bit hard on yourself - you are a fantastic heritage scrapper you did Diane proud I bet!

It is a gorgeous layout Sonya. You have done your m-i-l proud. ...and the orange is stunning. It is so nice to see the cameo instead of tucked away in a box.

I don't think there are any rules (especially with colour) in heritage scrapbooking. I think the main thing is documenting i.e. who, when, where if at all possible.

Thanks for doing the challenge.

Here is my finished latest painting
This one is a hit with all the males who have seen it. I must say that I did not really enjoy painting a truck and it will be a one off for sure! Uncle David is now the owner of this one. Next project on thepainting scene is going to be a fisherman- for my Uncle Graeme who is wanting me to paint him something. Really need to get onto this one!
