Just for a laugh!

...I thought I would show you this page I did a month or two ago with the lovely papers from Scrapbook Studio.

I do not like to do pages with myself in, but bent the rules on this occasion due to lack of photos on hand at the time! Anyway I thought my face might give you all a chuckle over the weekend!!

One more page

This page was the result of Sunday nights Bossy scrapper. I was boss and you would think that it should have been very easy for me to complete this round, except I was not organised at all and made up instructions as I went along! I also did my page as we went along, and even though I was boss I was not the first finished!! Bossy Scrapper is always a fun way to spend a Sunday evening. I have to say a big thank you to Carol who had me in stitches in the chat room! Thank you Carol I have not laughed that much in a long time!

A bit of scrapping

With All my Heart was the project Layout I created for Scrapbook Studio's February kit, project page. The gorgeous papers just cried out for the addition of a sweet little girl photo, so I added my little niece, then in my usual style I continued to add... and add... and add some more, until I ended up with this page.
Click HERE to check out the latest Projects kits, they are great value and provide you with plenty of scrapping goodies!

Lace, buttons, die cuts, everything (and heaps more) you can see on my page comes in the kit.

The only extra thing I have added to this whole page is the Blessings stamp, on saying that the kit usually does contain a gorgeous stamp .

Check out my take on Michelle's Card pattern

I had lots of fun creating this card, I even made the Rusty Paper using my slice tin, vinegar , water and bleach! I must say a HUGE THANK YOU to KRISTI for the instructions on how to do this!

that's the 'rusty paper you can see there in the background, I have added four eyelets to it and created a rip.

under the rip I have a layer of gold embossed wax paper and another piece of background paper which I have simply stamped with a crackle stamp.

I have also stamped onto my flower, tied on a little piece of paua shell. Cut out and embossed a heart, which again I have gold embossed. A gauze ribbon has been cut to shape and placed behind my flower, just to add a little more texture. I love Texture!!
Take a look here to see the gorgeous cards created by the rest of the team.... then...
Have a go yourself!

My Favorite Song

Have you checked out Carols Challenge at Scrapbooking by Design yet?

I got to last night a did my take on it.

First I have to tell you that my favorite song these days is I'm Your's by Jason Mraz. Aimee introduced this song to my blog late last year. At the time I had never heard of it, but it so grew on me and fast became my all time favorite.
I love the messages in the words to this song Things like...open up your plans and your free...and there's no need to complicate cause our time is short etc etc... How true is that! To me this song is about having a good time and going with the flow, just making the most of your life. Here are the words....

....Well, you done done me and you bet I felt it
I tried to be chill but your so hot that I melted
I fell right through the cracks, now I'm tryin to get back
before the cool done run out I'll be givin it my best test
and nothin's gonna stop me but divine intervention
I reckon it's again my turn to win some or learn some
But I won't hesitate no more,
no more, it cannot wait
I'm yours
Well open up your mind and see like me
open up your plans and damn you're free
look into your heart and you'll find love love love love
listen to the music of the moment people dance and sing
We're just one big family
And it's our godforsaken right to be loved loved loved loved loved
So, i won't hesitate no more,
no more, it cannot wait i'm sure
there's no need to complicate our time is short
this is our fate
I'm yours
Scooch on over closer, dear
And I will nibble your ear
I've been spendin' way too long checkin' my tongue in the mirror
and bendin' over backwards just to try to see it clearer
But my breath fogged up the glass
and so I drew a new face and I laughed
I guess what I'd be sayin' is there ain't no better reason
to rid yourself of vanities and just go with the seasons
it's what we aim to do
our name is our virtue
But I won't hesitate no more,
no more it cannot wait
I'm yours
Well open up your mind and see like me
open up your plans and damn you're free
look into your heart and you will find that the sky is yours
so please don't, please don't, please don't,
there's no need to complicate,
Cause our time is short
This, this, this is our fate,
I'm yours ...

... and here is my page that has many photos of 'good times' and 'happy moments' in my life!

...a few close-ups.
Oh to look like that again!!

I have used stamps, (word and star stamps shown here)

...and stickers and doodles. The chipboard letters were coloured with red stamp pad and Glossy accents have been added for shine and dimension.

Now why no try a page about your favorite song, or an everyday moment in your life! Details can be found HERE!

...and I have popped this song back onto my blog just so you can hear it foryourself!!

Swimming sports today.

Today...whoops , the clocks just ticked over so today is now yesterday. Aimee and Camden had their school swimming sports. Aimee was in full control in her new Sports Captain roll, and was sending out plenty of positives vibes to the rest of the swimmers. Andrew and I both felt very proud of the way she went about her duties, as far as daughters go we could not have wished for better! Camden also made us proud when he come home first in the Free Style race, second in the Breast Stroke and third in the Back Stroke!
Wishing you all a happy scrappy weekend. Hope to catch up with many of you in the chat room on Sunday night for round two of Bossy Scrapper.

Card patterns #2

Here is my card that I submitted to Card Patterns last week.

My owl is a rub-on which I have placed on vellum paper, that sits between the cut out circle and the inside lemon paper. The flowers are Epoxy stickers, by Creative Imaginations which I have embellished with gems. The leaves are cut out stamps with a touch of glitz and the branch was cut on my cricut. Those tiny stars were made using a boarder punch.

This card, below was the card I did not submit, I had fun making it though so thought I would show you anyway!

Check out the sketch below

Liz webber was chosen from a huge group of ladies, who submitted the most amazing cards, to be this weeks guest designer on Card patterns. pop over and see her wonderful card and all of the Design teams gorgeous creations HERE.

Bossy Scrapper returns!

Well, last night saw the return of the Bossy Scrapper at Scrapbook Studio. The Bossy Scrapper involves logging into the forum and the Scrap Cafe, which is an online chat room, at 8pm every Sunday evening. Once there you will be greeted by a lovely group of very friendly like minded scrapper's and a lovely boss lady! Now the boss gives out instructions, one at a time. For example the first instruction last night was this: I WANT YOU TO FIND ONE BACKGROUND PIECE, WE ARE LEAVING IT WHOLE IN EITHER PATTERNED OR PLAIN. Next everyone taking part in the scrapping side of things (some people just pop in for a chat) rush away and round up their piece of paper. After this task is completed a second instruction is given, and so on ... There is no pressure to finish your page on the night, which is lucky for me as last night I got a little behind, problems committing to patterned paper and ribbon!!
Anyway, here is my finished page!

Cup Cakes in the Garden

Here are a few close-ups

I have painted and crackled my chipboard letters.

You just have to love butterfly's don't you!

Last night my sister Debbie joined us on the Bossy Scrapper. Yay Debbie!!! Looking forward to seeing your page!

Origami Fun

Yesterday, as well as making my card for Card Patterns, well cards, (I was not happy with the first few attempts). I had a go at a bit of origami and made this bookmark.

.
Thought it looked like a fun idea when I spotted it on a very cool blog called 'How about Orange'
Check it out for your self right HERE.

Well the past few days have zipped by very quickly. Thought it high time I did a quick post.

On the home front first, On Wednesday we went to School to the Investiture Mass to see dear daughter Aimee receive her 'Stars and stripes', she has the honour of being Sports Captain this year at school and is very pleased with herself. Of course we are very proud she was chosen.

On the craft front, i can only say that I seemed to have made more mess than anything else this week! Yesterday I made my card for Card pattern's sketch #2, I cannot show you this one yet, but, if you haven't already, pop over and check out the site and be in for a chance to be guest designer for round 3. There has been a wonderful response so far...but I'm not seeing anyone from N.Z having a go yet!! Come on Kiwis!!!

This was what my room looked like at 1 am this morning!

Last night I was so tired that I turned off my light before cleaning up, not something I usually do! Today I have had a major tidy-up and am feeling all set to launch into my next project, which involves a spoon!

Another project completed!

I have finished Aimee's calendar and already one month has turned over!!
Aimee choose the paper and the photo for this one. I must add that I found it quite a challenge to do a beach theme on the dotty paper! I haven't really been successful either!

Here's a few close up of the embellishments I have added, the vine is a rub on.

I love stamps and seldom tackle a project without having at least one stamp close at hand! For this project I used four of them.

Thought I would add a memo pad to this calendar, for Aimee to jot down little memories on, and it was another excuse to have a play with my somewhat unused Zutter. If any of you are thinking of buying a Zutter I would say - Go for it, it is so surprisingly simple to use, even for someone as untrained as me!!

The little memo pad can be swung easily to the inside, apart from the coil you would not know it was even there! Here is the whole photo that hides under the cover.
Fingers crossed this will pass Aimee's inspection tomorrow!

Look what I got

Leah, at PaperBlossoms , kindly gave me this blog award.

First I have to Say one nice thing about the man in my life, That is easy
Andrew is super supportive of my scrap addition and never growls when I over spend on craft supplies! He is also a wonderful dad and... that is more than one isn't it!!
Next I need to List 6 ways I measure success in my life:
1) The number of smiling faces I have around me.
2) My children text just to say hello, not to ask for money!
3) Waking up and feeling ready to leap out of bed and begin a new day.
4) Feeling proud of my children's accomplishments.
5) Looking at something I have created and feeling satisfied with it.
6) Friendly hello's and lovely comments on my blog posts, of course!
Now for the hard part, choosing just 5 fellow bloggers to pass this award onto...
