Its business as usual now that the school holidays have come to an end. Today I started back at work, which is no huge feat. Last term I started a tiny job, teacher aiding at our local school. Its a whole four hours a week, so still plenty of time for crafting.

Yesterday I worked on my page for next months Up2scrap challenge. I'm tiring to keep a step ahead of myself. Saying that, I still want to take part in this months Double the Fun challenge by Pauline McArdle, there is still time! Details can be found here And there is a great prize up for grabs, so don't miss out!

Yesterday I sent four more digital pages off to our lovely daughter, for her 'Outward Bound' album. All pages are of course created using the most gorgeous kits from Louise, I don't do her kits justice I'm afraid., I still have lots to learn on the subject of digi scrapping.
Aunaturale is the name of this delightful digi kit, it has many more delicious elements in it , I have used only some of them.
We have to dash off to town very soon, Camden has an extended bagpipe lesson tonight in preparation for the Anzac services coming up this weekend. So, for now I say goodnight.

A wee bit rude!

Okay, this page is a little rude... but felt I really had to include this photo in Aimee's Outward Bound album.... isn't that such a typical boy thing to do !
The paper and elements in this kit called : MSNC, are from Eidou...again!
I just love the little owl. Thought the owl was perfect for these 'night in the watch house' photos, the colours work well with my photos to.
Today I have been working on a 'project'. I am thinking about having a go at the Scrapbook Outlet NZ design team call...details HERE But not sure that my talents are up to that, so I'm still procrastinating. Time seems short enough as it is without committing to anything else...but I do like to keep busy and inspired.

Too soon the holidays for Aimee have come to an end, sadly tomorrow we have to take her back to university. Aimee only had a weeks holiday, and she has worked all week at the cafe in Kurow, so we have seen very little of her. I have been busy working on her Outward Bound album as she is wanting to take it away with her. Here are a couple of pages I have completed today...
The digital kit I have used is from Eidou (my favorite digital site) the kit is Vintage Romance. If your after a digital kit be sure to check out Louise's wonderful creations Here
Camden has been away for the past three nights with a mate and his mates dads on a hunting trip, I am pleased to report they shot nothing! I hate hunting!! Camden was very excited about seeing the fence that is the highest (above sea level) in New Zealand. I will post photos of this fence tomorrow.
Cody is away for the night with Hannah. They are staying at a little hut somewhere in the back of beyond.
Time I was heading for bed, it will soon be time to get up again.
Sorry if you are posting comments and they are not showing on my blog..seems to be something funny going on there, I have received your comments via email though so thank you all very much.
Night night from me xx

Goodness me, where have I been??? The time has zipped past so quickly!
Last Thursday Andrew and I headed to Burwood for an appointment at the Pain Management Clinic. Andrew now is in the process of tiring out new medications to help with the shoulder pain that he lives with constantly. Fingers crossed it will help. During the corse of our visit we spoke with an amazing doctor, such an inspiring man to listen to and talk with. By the end of our chat with him I was feeling keen to go and train as a doctor myself....LOL, but this man had real passion for his job and really was quite an inspiration.
Saturday saw us on the road home again, once there I unloaded the van, changed clothes and we headed to a 40th birthday party.
On Sunday I caught up on the housework and washing and threw myself into my Up2scrap project...you will have to grab a copy of the next mag to find out more about that... I'm not allowed to say any more on that subject :-)

These are my latest digital pages, I decided to throw together a memento of Aimess first year at University, in the form of a 'She' mini album
Check out more 'She' sayings by Kobi Yamada HERE

and...here is an update of our new look garage. We are not quite finished yet, but getting there. The locals are all passing positive comments. And our local hotel is under going a paint job as well, so Duntroon's main street is looking pretty dapper!
Well I have a yucky head cold and tomorrow we have an early start. We are heading back to Christchurch as our Aimee is receiving her Duke of Edinburgh Award at the presentations tomorrow. So I'm about to head to bed early, in the hope that i wake up feeling much better!
Aimee come home tonight, via the bus. This is her first visit back home from uni, and its wonderful to have her home. Such a shame we have to take her back to Dunedin again on Sunday.

No mess in my room tonight

This weekend has whipped by super fast...again!
On Saturday Andrew and I went to the movies to see 'Have you heard about the Martins'. The film was a light hearted comedy, easy to watch with a few laughs, and I'm a Hugh Grant fan so it was all good.
Today I had great plans to scrap, instead I made more apricot sauce and muddled through the washing and house work.
Tonight I took to my craft room at 9.45 for some much needed 'me time'. I sat down and had a play with this very cool new digital kit I purchased from Louise on Friday. Check out the kit HERE There are endless possibilities with the Fairywalk kit, its super gorgeous!!
Here is the page I created in a couple of hours, which is a quick page for me ....

I'm looking forward to having another play with this kit,I just love it. In fact I love all of Louise's kits, don't forget to check them out. Louise has other goodies as well.
And the awesome thing about digital scrapping is that now I can just turn off the lights and go to bed... there is no mess to clean up! Yee harr. Thanks Louise :-)

Shadows for 'pop'

Today I sat for some time and 'played' in photoshop. I have worked out how to add more shadow effects to my digital scrapbooking. These help add a 3D type look and do add a little 'pop' to my pages. I just had to whip up a page to show you. Check out a close up of my shadows...almost as good as the 'real thing'!!

Here is the whole of my digital page
I have used a kit called Chocolate Mint which you can download for free from Digital Fingers
Thanks again Louise!
I did do other things today...truly !! This morning, after the house work I carted wood into the wood shed, just in time as at lunch time the rain arrived and its still pouring now. Also I got to work on the ATC's that I am creating for a swap at Scrapbook Studios The theme is music and I have almost finished. Next, waiting in line I have Amanda's gorgeous circle journal to complete and Megan has some scrapping goodies on the way for me to 'get creative' with.

Check out the scrummy new lace papers in Megan's Shop..

These come in a lovely array of colours. Check them out HERE

From Granmar's Garden!

I've been digi scrapping again! I love it, such a cool way to scrap for a 'tidy freak' like myself!! No sticky bits, no paper scraps...nothing to clean up at the end....and no rubbish bin fill of failed attempts.
:-)
Here are two more pages for Aimee's Outward Bound memories album

These photos were taken at the final assembly, just before everyone boarded the boat for home.I get the impression that emotions were running high after three weeks of 'surviving' together. Aimee still maintains contact with all of her 'watch mates' She has made many life long friends I think!
I love this digi kit. Its another one from Louise's My Digital Fingers site called Granmars Garden AND its only $2.00!!
You can buy it HERE
There are many more elements in this kit than you can see on my two pages, I will be using this kit alot!

Sun shine!

At last the sun shone on us today.
Andrew, Camden and I took a short drive to Kurow and daughter dear cooked us fish and chips for lunch. (Aimee is working at a cafe called Te Kohurau over the holiday break). We headed to the river with our lunch and soaked in the fresh air and tranquility!
Just to give you a laugh here is a photo Cam snapped of me... I was busy explaining to him how to use the camera!
Tonight I have made another digital LO, and again there is no clean- up required!
Louise tells me there are more tutorials coming up in the Up2scrap magazine. Thanks Louise!!

Too wet

So far the school holiday weather has been horrid! Although it has not deterred this rather tied bunch of lads from having great fun !!
Last night the boys slept in the garage, in fact last night was the third night in a row that Camden and Dean have 'camped out'. Just some of the crazy stuff boys like to do I guess!!

I managed to sneak off to my room...in between feeding time!! LOL! Since my time was sort, and full of interruption's I decided to leave my scissors in the draw and have a bit of a play with some digi scrapping. Here is page one of an album I am putting together for Aimee, of her adventures at Outward Bound...

Louise has a wonderful digital tutorial in the latest Up2scrap magazine. I followed her instructions on how best to print out my page. Thanks Louise!! This one printed out perfectly and Aimee is thrilled with the results. Keep the tutorials coming...please...I need all of the help I can get! This page was created using a kit I purchased from Louise's Eidou site, called Love Letters. Check out some more of her yummy kits here... My Digital Fingers

Delight in life

Today I have started packing for our trip to Burwood. Andrew and I head away on Sunday, for a fun week at the hospital, ( I am thinking positive thoughts here!!). truly though, I'm not a huge fan of hospitals!!

I am almost up to date with my crafty capers. My Design team work for Better Scrapbooking is finished and now on Megan's computer. Carol's circle journal is awaiting posting.

I have completed challenge #4 at Craftytarts. Challenge 5 will be up in the morning, so hopefully I can throw something together for that one before we leave, only problem is that I'm not at all good at 'throwing things together!!

I do still have my 'Violet' ATC's to finish, might try and do that now.

I had another play with Digi Scrapping today, in between other jobs!! It is wonderful to be left with zero mess!!

Now I'm not very good at this yet, but if you promise not to laugh I will show you what I have done......

I used pieces of two different digi kits here, one called 'Dreams of Summer ' and the other one is called 'Vintage Romance' These kits can be found at Eidou.

Do any of you know how to digital scrapbook, and are you able to give me any tips??? I need all the help I can get!

Another First!!

Here it is.... My first digital scrapbook page created by me using the Watercolour Spring kit from Eidou. No cheating this time!! I know its not very creative, but I have worked out how to use layers and how to add elements and resize them, and I have the right date in this time as well!!

I have not worked out how to use alphas yet, so used Text instead for my journalling. Still have HEAPS to learn! The best part is that I am still able to see my desk, and floor, no mess what so ever!! YeeHarrr.

A first for me

For the first time EVER I have put together a scrapbook page without leaving a scrap of mess anywhere!!
Don't believe me??? ...... Well, let me explain...

Sometime ago Carol directed me to a free Photo Shop online course ( I do believe I have mentioned this already). Well tonight via this site and through this link here I had a go at Digital scrap booking for the first time EVER. You can download a beginners page that is almost done for you, so okay I have cheated...but still learnt the basics and hey, I had to start somewhere :-)

Here is my page...don't laugh, I know the journalling is not quite in the lines and the photo is a bit of a hoot, going back 20 odd years to our wedding day.... but here it is anyway....
LOL, oh dear that date is meant to be 1989... another great thing about digital scrapping...if you muck up its simple to fix, no peeling off of stuck down journalling or embellishments required.
If you do happen to be into digital scrap booking, or thinking of giving it ago be sure to check out this site... Eidou. Louise has lots of free goodies you can down load to get started and a whole shop full of yummy stuff to spend your money on!

Here is my finished latest painting
This one is a hit with all the males who have seen it. I must say that I did not really enjoy painting a truck and it will be a one off for sure! Uncle David is now the owner of this one. Next project on thepainting scene is going to be a fisherman- for my Uncle Graeme who is wanting me to paint him something. Really need to get onto this one!

Finished at last- I think
