Angels on Canvas

At last...I've found some 'mojo', but only thanks to a special cyber friend who challenged me to a swap a month ...or so, ago. This is the canvas I created for Carol, and like most of my work it has rather alot going on, so warning...loads of photos ahead!!

Originally the 'frame' of my reverse canvas was going to be white...but it just didn't work with the background somehow, so I got out my 'flat' and metallic paints, wax and texture paste and .....

...I made a huge mess. I even managed to forget that I had wax melting in my pan...until I turned to see it was pouring onto the carpet! I must say a special thank-you here to a friend who told me how to get it out of the carpet. Lay paper towels over the wax areas and gently iron over the top, until all of the wax has been absorbed into the paper. ( change the paper towels as the wax is absorbed). I really didn't think that would work but WOW...there is no sign of wax at all now, not even a stain.

Over the layers of lace, fabric, wax and paint I added some favorite embellishments

And I added an angel poem around the sides.

I made the little angel from paper clay and dotted the tulle bow with dots of kindy Glitz.

Must say cutting the birds nest in half caused me some grief, it really wanted to fall to piece's ...I was saved by my craft glue!

Thanks for looking!

Cute as a Butterfly - template

Hi there, just a quick post with a template for the inside of the card (below).

The red lines are the ones you cut and the dotted lines you just fold, some are Valley, and some are Mountain folds (as marked).

The front of this card is made separately, and attached along the line shown in blue.

Make the front of your card 21 cm (portrait) and 14 cm - or there-abouts (landscape).

Cute as a butterfly

Here is my latest card for Tickled Pink Stamps.

This weeks challenge is to make your card 'cute', which is not hard to do because you need to use a Tickled Pink Stamp on your card, and these stamps are all super cute!

Your card must also have a butterfly some where on it. I used a strip of 'projector transparency' to make my butterfly 'pop out'.

The image I have used is called Lil Little Lolita Ivy, and you can buy her here in digi form if you are super quick. Lolita Ivy is also available in 'rubber'

This is what my card looks like on the inside'

Sure hope you get a chance to join in with the challenge this week.

Tickled Pink

Lucky me !! I was the  winner of some digital stamps from Tickled pink , via the Southern Girls Challenge  blog site.
Thanks so much to Southern Girls and Kellie!
Kellie's stamps are gorgeous and I spent a very long time humming and haring over which stamps to choose. I also spent several hours looking at the gorgeous art works on the  Tickled Pink website, head over and have a look, you will see just what I mean! While you are there check out this tutorial by Emma, on how to make your own roses.

I've alot to learn when it come to digital stamps, my colouring leaves a lot to be desired, but here is my first completed project ( an ATC card) using this delightful stamp called Cherrie.

Tickled Pink stamps has a challenge site, so if your keen for a challenge check it out HERE I might just join in myself. Don't forget to check out the new Challenge at Southern Girls as well.

This one is a hit with all the males who have seen it. I must say that I did not really enjoy painting a truck and it will be a one off for sure! Uncle David is now the owner of this one. Next project on thepainting scene is going to be a fisherman- for my Uncle Graeme who is wanting me to paint him something. Really need to get onto this one!
