Totally Loved Up!

Last night I worked on a project for a  friend. This is what I made, its an altered Eclipse tin
complete with a little tag book containing love quotes. (click on the photos for a better view)

My tin is covered in wax, which I have stamped into.I used the colours gold and red, the colours of love.

I spent ages choosing just the right quotes. The verse on the back of this tag reads...Love, the magician knows this little trick whereby two people walk in different directions yet always remain side by side.

Love can touch us one time and last for a lifetime, and never let go till we're gone.

I put my favorite quote on the back of my tin, this one reads...A guy and girl can be just friends but at one point or another one of them will fall for the other, maybe temporarily, maybe at the wrong time, maybe too late or maybe... just maybe ....forever.

These quotes send a message of hope..

Once in a while in the middle of an ordinary life, love gives us a fairy tale.

And  - Love can touch us one time and last for a lifetime, and never let go till we're gone.

Last, but by no means least  Absence diminishes small loves and increases great ones, as the wind blows out the candle and fans the bonfire.

Thanks for looking.

Carol asked me to post a tutorial over at Birds of a Feather, so check it out if you wish to have a go at you own.

First Layout for 2011

Yesterday I completed my first layout for 2011. My inspiration was taken from this Becky F sketch, posted by Carol over at Birds of A Feather

Carol come up with the idea that we should have a challenge each month based on a photo, or memory from the month before.  Awesome idea Carol!

Over Christmas my lovely sister come to stay with her two sweet children, at our Mums and Dads, who happen to be our neighbours. Dane quickly got into the habit of popping over every morning to collect the egg laid by our pet hen Henny Penny. Dane took great delight in eating Henny Penny's egg each morning for his breakfast, or lunch if Henny Penny was a bit slow!
I wanted to scrap these photos to send to Dane as a memento, shame I cannot send Henny's eggs as well.

Carol's sketch challenge stipulated that at least one stamp was to be used ( I managed to use two)....

... and Chipboard was to be used on the page, again I managed to use two pieces of this

...also you need to use a punch. I punched a boarded into my boarder.
Thanks Carol for the Challenge, hope some of you can join in the fun with us. If you have not found Birds Of A Feather yet then just click HERE. Now I'm off see what I can come up with for next months challenge.

What ever you are doing today , remember, just enjoy the moment.

Hand made Journal

Here is a journal I made for Aimee,  I thought it would be nice to create a special place for her to record moments from her first years flatting in. I have included some of her favorite, and very easy to make recipes...just so she does not starve this year!!

This journal has a calendar on one side...

 ...and a few special photos

along with plenty of pages to add what ever Aimee wants to add.

and..here is a simple, but tasty recipe I thought you may all like!

Today i have been busy in my garden, and I'm happy to report that its almost weed free, for the time being!

I forgot to add yesterday that Cody and Hannah moved out a week and a half ago, they are just a little way down the road living in our wee 'farm house'. I have to admit that I really miss them both, and I almost even miss the four dogs they took with them.
Camden received his NCEA results a few days ago and passed both level one and level two with flying colours. This year, at polytech he is able to pick up level three credits  so that's all good! Well done Camden.
Well, its getting close to bed time, in fact its almost time to get up again, so best I say Good Night xox

New Year and Rodeo Rides.

Hi there, I seemed to get lost over Christmas! Its been three whole weeks since I last posted on my blog and Ive no idea where the past three weeks disappeared to, but here is a quick flash back , with many photos!.
Christmas was wonderful, my sister and her two adorable children, who live in Auckland come to stay for eight days. We spent our time together just cruising really, we swam at the river when it was hot, went to the movies when it was cooler, took the children to Moraki Lighthouse and the Boulders, etc etc. I did very little house work and no crafty stuff at all, but had a lovely days just enjoying life.
.

Christmas morning is always lots of fun when there are young children around!

...our two older children were having fun as well, you just cannot tell by looking at their faces!!

We were lucky to have Hannah's company as well, she really is part of our family now. I think Christmas was a little hard for Hannah, being so far away from her family and home in Germany.

Christmas day was sooo sunny that we ate lunch, and tea in Granpop's and Granmars garden.

This is my little sister

Christmas was a little tiny bit sad for me as Camden did not spend the day with us, he was off chasing his dreams on the Rodeo circuit. Apart from that I enjoyed everything else about the day.

The next few snaps were taken after Christmas...

We caught up with Cam on the 27th of December at the Waimate rodeo. Cam had already taken part in the Rodeo at Millers Flat of the 25th, but we did not get to watch that one, so this was the first real rodeo we had seen him take part in, and it was not for the faint hearted!

Wee Dane got into the swing of things as well.

A few photos of our day at Moraki...

Debbie got up close with her zoom lens and captured this great shot of a penguin at the Moraki Light House.
 Back at home...
Meet Henny Penny, she kept coming to our house to lay her egg each day, and now she has moved in to my bird avery to stay for good. Dane collected her egg every day for his breakfast, or lunch.

Georgia was super busy and creative in my craft room, even though I was not.

All too soon the 29th of December rolled around and it was time to head for the Christchurch airport.

...and wave good bye to my sister and her wee family.

After the 29th our year sprung into action early and life got super busy.
We become Rodeo gurus, surviving on very little sleep.

Here is our lad in action at Omarama on New Years days

...and at Wanaka on the 2nd of January

Camden come very, very close to damage this time round! Lucky he can move a whole lot quicker than I can!

The past few days I have been tiring hard to catch up on my craft work, today I finished my Paper Case project, which I have spent far too many hours on! Tomorrow It's a scrapping I do go...hopefully.

HAPPY NEW YEAR to you all xox

This one is a hit with all the males who have seen it. I must say that I did not really enjoy painting a truck and it will be a one off for sure! Uncle David is now the owner of this one. Next project on thepainting scene is going to be a fisherman- for my Uncle Graeme who is wanting me to paint him something. Really need to get onto this one!
