Christmas was wonderful, my sister and her two adorable children, who live in Auckland come to stay for eight days. We spent our time together just cruising really, we swam at the river when it was hot, went to the movies when it was cooler, took the children to Moraki Lighthouse and the Boulders, etc etc. I did very little house work and no crafty stuff at all, but had a lovely days just enjoying life.
.
Christmas morning is always lots of fun when there are young children around!
...our two older children were having fun as well, you just cannot tell by looking at their faces!!
We were lucky to have Hannah's company as well, she really is part of our family now. I think Christmas was a little hard for Hannah, being so far away from her family and home in Germany.
This is my little sister
The next few snaps were taken after Christmas...
We caught up with Cam on the 27th of December at the Waimate rodeo. Cam had already taken part in the Rodeo at Millers Flat of the 25th, but we did not get to watch that one, so this was the first real rodeo we had seen him take part in, and it was not for the faint hearted!
A few photos of our day at Moraki...
Debbie got up close with her zoom lens and captured this great shot of a penguin at the Moraki Light House.
Back at home...
Meet Henny Penny, she kept coming to our house to lay her egg each day, and now she has moved in to my bird avery to stay for good. Dane collected her egg every day for his breakfast, or lunch.
Georgia was super busy and creative in my craft room, even though I was not.
All too soon the 29th of December rolled around and it was time to head for the Christchurch airport.
...and wave good bye to my sister and her wee family.
After the 29th our year sprung into action early and life got super busy.
We become Rodeo gurus, surviving on very little sleep.
Here is our lad in action at Omarama on New Years days
...and at Wanaka on the 2nd of January
Camden come very, very close to damage this time round! Lucky he can move a whole lot quicker than I can!
The past few days I have been tiring hard to catch up on my craft work, today I finished my Paper Case project, which I have spent far too many hours on! Tomorrow It's a scrapping I do go...hopefully.
HAPPY NEW YEAR to you all xox

Happy New Year Sonya. Looks like you had a lovely holiday :-)
But oh my I think I would not only have chewed my nails watching Camden at the rodeo, but my fingers as well!!!
All the best for 2011.
can't wait to see what you end up creating and um, your son is mad... lol. Not letting my two see what Camden is up to and getting ideas in their head of wanting to try it... I'd never sleep! xx
Happy New Year Sonya. Glad you have had a holiday and survived the Rodeo season. Looking forward to seeing your creations and inspiration in 2011.
Crikey Sonya I think I would have been weak at the knees and peering through my fingers...so, so hard watching your own kids do stuff like that (or even learning to drive lol). Happy New Year.
